My Journey So Far
Early Curiosity
I studied at Royal College Colombo 07 before earning my BEng (Hons) in Software Engineering, Upper Second from the University of Westminster, UK, completed through IIT Sri Lanka. Even during school, I was drawn to creativity — exploring graphic design and visual storytelling whenever I had the chance.
The Creative Journey
While pursuing my degree part-time, I began my professional path at MiHCM, a leading Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software company, as a Junior Graphic Designer. Over the next five years, I steadily grew through the ranks — stepping into UI/UX design within the marketing team and eventually advancing to the role of Creative Design Specialist.
Working in the HR tech space gave me hands-on experience designing for complex, B2B platforms that support thousands of users across global markets. At MiHCM, I collaborated closely with CEOs, managers, and cross-functional teams, mentored junior designers, and embraced a culture of feedback and iteration. These experiences strengthened my belief that great design is a balance of empathy, clarity, and collaboration — especially in fast-evolving digital environments.
Expanding Horizons
Outside of corporate life, I co-founded Dezign24x7, a digital agency where I brought creative solutions to life for over 100+ clients across branding, web design, social media, and video production. Balancing these two worlds sharpened both my creative instincts and business acumen.
A Design Philosophy
To me, creativity doesn’t have a single definition — it’s a journey of continuous learning and exploration. I believe in staying simple, honest, and adaptable, always open to feedback, and driven to make a positive impact.
My design approach balances intuition with strategy, creating intuitive, delightful experiences that are usable, accessible, and desirable.
Beyond the Screen
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me writing poems in Sinhala, exploring voice acting, capturing life through a lens, riding motorcycles, or working out at the gym. Creativity, in every form, keeps me moving forward.
What’s Next
I’m now focusing on the next chapter of my career — stepping into the world of Product Design, aligning my skills with evolving technologies like AI, and continuing to build experiences that connect, empower, and inspire.
